Up until about 2014 or so, the Google Keyword Planner was the 'go to' keyword data tool to find keyword ideas and get a pretty accurate search volume for keyword phrases.

Over time, the tool has been more involved and difficult to use and access. In addition, internet marketing has changed drastically and long long tail keyword phrases are more important and the Google keyword planner generally does not provide information or data for keyword phrases more than 4 or 5 words long.

An alternative to the Google Keyword Planner is the Bing Keyword Tool. While this tool will NOT provide accurate volume for keywords typed into Google search (Bing search gets a lot less traffic than Google) ...
